Russell Brand - Should He Get Over Himself?
Posted
Whilst America has been in the grip of election fever, here on British shores the focus of our attention has been on a little scandal thats been brewing for a couple of weeks. Russell Brand, host of this year's VMA's, has been getting into trouble (along with his pal, fellow broadcaster Jonathon Ross) on his BBC Radio show. The long and short of the story is that Brand made several phone calls to a well respected English actor and alluded to having sex with his grandaughter- you can hear the recording here
Brand is known for his edgy humour but this time he seems to have upset a lot of people. The BBC received over 70,000 complaints about this episode (he has since resigned). Conversely there is an uprising on facebook, with groups organising marches calling for him to exonerated from blame.
So, for a little bit of light relief - id be interested to know where you stand on this issue, let me know in the boxes below

My Chemical Romance - Good Enough for Dylan?
Posted
1 yr 3 mos ago
In somewhat surprising news, My Chemical Romance have confirmed that they are covering a Bob Dylan song for the soundtrack of an up and coming movie. This is not the first time a modern rock band have given their spin to one of Dylan's classics as Guns n Roses released Knocking on Heaven's Door in 1992 but my question is are My Chem good enough to pull this off?

Posted
1 yr 8 mos ago
There's been a lot of controversy surrounding scene queens and their exposure on Buzznet recently. Questions have been asked of their relevance, whether they deserve to have the exposure they receive and its even been suggested that this site would be a better place without them. This is your chance to have your say. Do you agree with the artsy crowd and hope for banishment? Or, if this place were to go exclusive - which SQ would you pick to stay? Does Fashion Rock?
Posted
1 yr 8 mos ago
We all like to dress up a little and being part of a tribe or scene is an essential part of feeling you belong. Even non conformist groups such as punks or bohemians obey the basic rules of their particular style. Often, the way a person looks is tied into the music they listen to. If your favourite band dumped their skinny jeans and tight t’s for flares and tunics would you shout hurrah! Or would you call the fashion police?
So, putting music to one side – which subculture got it right in the style stakes? |

ARE THINGS LOOKING UP FOR BRIT?
Posted
1 yr 9 mos ago
Hurrah! According to Britney’s friend and manager the troubled singer has been to see a psychiatrist. Apparently she has been diagnosed with mental health problems characterised by lack of sleep and mood swings. It seems as well that she has reconciled with her mother Lynn and been granted temporary telephone contact with her boys. Things are looking rosy in the Spears household for now. But can it last? Will Brit be able to get a hold on things and rescue her family and career? Or will things crash and burn again after a few weeks?

Fat or Fit – Does it Matter Once You’ve Hooked ‘em?
Posted
1 yr 9 mos ago
Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has hit the headlines recently for unusual reasons. His wife Keely Shaye Smith has piled on the pounds and become an object of ridicule amongst the less esteemed tabloid papers and internet gossip sites. In true Bond style, Brosnan has spoken up for his wife and stated that he loves her regardless. All very noble but since her looks are quite probably part of what attracted him to her in the first place – is she guilty of false advertising? Or is it ok to relax a bit once you’ve settled down? So, my question is, do you have a duty to your partner to stay in shape or if you’re happy should they be?

Wealth and Happiness or Drugs and Death – Is Becoming a Child Star Worth the Risk?
Posted
1 yr 9 mos ago
Former child actor and star of films The Client, Apt Pupil and Sleepers, Brad Renfro, was found dead in his apartment yesterday at the age of 25.
Although no cause of death has officially been released, it is known that Renfro battled with addictions to drugs and alcohol. With Britney’s struggles hitting tabloid headlines daily and an ever growing list of young celebs admitting they have issues ranging from addiction to anorexia – do you think it’s a good idea to expose children to the limelight? |

Celeb Baby Names – Did Joel and Nicole get it Right?
Posted
1 yr 9 mos ago
So Joel and Nicole had a girl and called her Harlow whilst down the hall in the same hospital Christina gave birth to baby Max. Both sets of parents seem to have opted for the traditional choice when naming their kids. But over the years celebs have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous when choosing tags for their offspring. Legendary musician and lover the concept album, Frank Zappa named his kids Moon Unit and Dweezil. David Bowie chose Zowie for his son and more recently My Name is Earl star Jason Lee labelled his child Pilot Inspektor. Where do you stand on the great baby name debate? If you were a celeb would you go traditional, modern or all out weird? Take the poll and tell me your favourite names in the comments box.

Posted
1 yr 10 mos ago
Celebs are a strange bunch. Just as you think that you’ve come to know them and that you have them figured out, they go and blow you away by behaving strangely out of character or taking weird to a whole new level.
But 2008 is a brand new year, a time to wipe the slate clean and start again, a time to reinvent yourself or to branch off in new directions. So I’ve put together a list of celebrity predictions – which do you think has the most chance of coming true and why? |
